Provider Terms
These terms govern claimed listings and paid tiers on HospiceAtlas. They apply to the hospice organization and the person acting for it, from the moment a claim is submitted. Families and other readers using the directory are not bound by this page; the site terms and privacy policy cover general use.
Who may claim a listing
A listing may be claimed only by an authorized representative of the hospice: someone employed by or formally engaged by the organization with authority to speak for it, typically in an administrative, executive, marketing, compliance, or ownership role. Submitting the claim form is a representation that you have that authority. We verify every claim by hand before any change goes live, and we may ask for evidence of your role.
Truthful content only
Everything a provider adds to a listing (description, care details, languages, photos, payment information, the service-area clarification note) must be accurate and verifiable. Do not claim services you don't provide, coverage you don't have, or credentials you don't hold. We may ask for support for any provider-added statement and may decline or remove statements we can't verify.
What we never promise
We make no guarantee of traffic, leads, patients, admissions, referrals, or inquiries, at any tier, ever. Paid tiers buy presentation: a verification badge, provider-controlled detail on the listing, and (for Featured) a labeled sponsored slot and profile accent. They buy nothing else. No HospiceAtlas employee or document is authorized to promise you volume of any kind, and payment never changes quality data or standard ranking.
Fees and cancellation
Paid tiers are flat monthly fees: Verified $49/month, Featured $99/month ($149/month in the top-20 metro counties). You can cancel anytime; the paid features end at the close of the paid period and the listing reverts to its free state with all CMS-sourced data intact. There are no setup fees, no contracts, and no refunds for partial months.
We never charge per lead, per referral, per admission, or as a percentage of anything. That's not a pricing preference; paying for hospice referrals is prohibited by the federal Anti-Kickback Statute, and our flat-fee model is designed to stay far from that line.
Sponsored labeling
Featured placement is always labeled "Sponsored" on the page, with a disclosure that payment never affects quality ratings or rankings. Providers may not describe their placement on HospiceAtlas as an endorsement, recommendation, ranking, or award, in any marketing channel. "Featured on HospiceAtlas" is accurate; "recommended by HospiceAtlas" is not, and no tier makes it true.
Our right to remove provider content
We may edit, decline, or remove provider-added content that is false, misleading, unverifiable, disparaging of another named provider, or that misrepresents what a paid tier is. We may suspend paid features, or the claim itself, for violations of these terms. The CMS-sourced baseline listing is never removed; it exists for every Medicare-certified hospice regardless of payment or standing under these terms.
No medical advice
HospiceAtlas is a directory built on public data. Nothing on the site is medical advice, and provider-added content must not be written as medical advice. Providers are solely responsible for their own regulatory compliance, including state licensing and Medicare conditions of participation, in anything they add to a listing.
Data sources and disclaimers
Listings are built from public CMS Care Compare data, refreshed quarterly, with the data date shown on every page; California license badges reflect matches against CDPH's published file at the shown date. We work to present this data accurately but do not warrant it, and a listing (or a verification badge) represents no status with CMS, Medicare, or any government agency. See the methodology page for exactly where every data point comes from, and the corrections page for how each type of data gets fixed.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Material changes are communicated to claimed listings' verified contacts by email. Continued use of a claimed listing or paid tier after a change takes effect is acceptance of the revised terms.
